Z-9 Military Helicopter Crash: Who is helping Ghana uncover the cause?

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, has disclosed that a team of international investigators have arrived in the region to assist investigations into the tragic military helicopter crash that occurred on August 6, 2025.

According to a report by citinewsroom.com on August 29, Dr Amoakohene noted that he had directed the investigators to key stakeholders, stressing that their cooperation would be crucial to the probe.

"I have directed the investigators to key stakeholders as their cooperation is vital to the probe. I am confident that the collaboration between local and international teams will uncover the cause of the crash and help prevent future tragedies," Dr Amoakohene said.

The report noted that he expressed optimism that the joint efforts of the local and international teams would help uncover the cause of the crash and prevent similar atrocities in the future.

The crash which happened near Brofoyedru-Sikaman in the Adansi Akrofrom District of the Ashanti Region claimed the lives of 8 people, including the Minister of Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, the Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed.

Meanwhile, the acting Minister of Defence, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has announced that the board formed to investigate the Z-9 military helicopter crash has begun its work.

The team has been directed to complete its work within 30 days.
