ZEN Petroleum, the leading supplier of hydrocarbon products to mines in Ghana, has announced a significant achievement in its unwavering commitment to safety and excellence.
ZEN Mining Operations has successfully surpassed 7 million man-hours of work without any Lost Time Injury (LTI), marking an extraordinary accomplishment within the industry.
This remarkable milestone covers the period from May 13, 2015, until the present day. By strictly adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintaining a strong focus on leading indicators, ZEN Petroleum has consistently provided mining services in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
The achievement is also a noteworthy addition to ZEN's mining operations, which have gained recognition for their emphasis on safety protocols. Given their exceptional track record, depot managers at ZEN Petroleum hold key positions on the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) committees of the mines in which they operate.
Additionally, the company has received several awards in acknowledgment of these efforts. In particular, ZEN Petroleum's commitment to safety and excellent service has been acknowledged multiple times at the prestigious Ghana Mining Industry Awards (GMIA), organised by the Ghana Chamber of Mines.
Many times since the inauguration of the awards, ZEN has been adjudged the Best Performer in Mine Supplies and Services at the GMIA, including in 2017, 2021, and 2022. In 2019, ZEN Petroleum received the esteemed accolade of the first runner-up in the same category.
Moreover, ZEN Petroleum has achieved remarkable overall growth and has been featured, for the second consecutive year, on the Financial Times' and Statista 2023 annual ranking of Africa's fastest-growing companies. The 2023 ranking includes ZEN Petroleum as one of only two Ghanaian companies on the prestigious list.
"We extend our deepest gratitude and admiration to all the mining site employees who have contributed to this incredible achievement," said Boniface Baah, Health Safety & Environmental Manager at ZEN Petroleum. "Their unwavering dedication to safety, professionalism, and adherence to our stringent protocols has been instrumental in attaining this significant milestone. This accomplishment reflects ZEN Petroleum's commitment to fostering a culture of safety excellence within the mining industry."
Over the past 13 years, ZEN has solidified its position as the leading fuel supplier to mines in Ghana. To ensure an unbroken and secure supply chain of high-quality fuels to the mines, ZEN works closely with BP Oil International and other major international Oil Traders, ring-fencing its supply chain to ensure timely delivery of exceptional fuel to customers.
This customer-centric approach has been pivotal in securing ZEN's position as the market leader in Ghana.
