Accra, May 11 - Zambian President Levy Patrick Mwanawasa arrives in Accra today for a three-day State visit to Ghana.
A statement in Accra on Tuesday signed by Mr Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, Press Secretary to the President, said President Mwanawasa, who would be accompanied by senior government officials, would hold bilateral talks with his host President John Agyekum Kufuor.
Top on the agenda the statement said, were issues of mutual concerns, trade, commerce and economic matters. The Zambian President would be a Special Guest at a State Banquet to be held in his honour. Relations between both countries date back to the 1950's when Nationalists Leaders of both countries collaborated in the anti-colonial struggles.
Ghana formally established full diplomatic relations with Zambia in 1964.
The visit is the first by a Zambian President in the last decade.
