Member of Parliament for the Klottey Korley, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings has donated sewing machines to her constituents.
The MP donated a total of fifteen machines to individuals in both the Osu and Adabraka sectors of the constituency.
The gesture was in response to requests put before her by some constituents who needed the machines to aid them in their sewing businesses.
Speaking at the presentation last Thursday, Dr. Zanetor, admonished the recipients to put the sewing machines to good use inorder to transform their lives and people in their communities.
Dr. Zanetor also advised the recipients not to keep their skills to themselves, but also train other youth in their vicinity, so the benefits will have a multiplying effect in their community.
“When we invest in women, by and large, the entire family benefits from it. Now that you have the machines, you must also do something good for somebody else. Identify some young people in your vicinity who are interested in sewing and mentor them.”
She added that she will continue to invest her time and resources to help develop the capacities of her constituents.
One of the recipients, Mary Akoto, thanked the MP on behalf of her colleagues.
“I wish to express my sincerest gratitude to the MP for this wonderful gesture, and I urge all constituents to continue to support her as she serves us. This sewing machine will help change my life for the best.”
