Delegates in the Zebila constituency of the opposition New Patriotic Party are threatening mayhem if the party fails to organise a Parliamtary primary in three days.

They accuse national executives of attempting to impose a candidate on the constituency.

Zebila is one of ten constituencies the party suspended parliamentary primaries.

On Sunday, some two hundred delegates besieged the party office, threatening to set it ablaze if the elections are not held within three days.

Spokesperson for the delegates George Ngeba told Joy News they will elect the only aspirant by acclamation if the ultimatum expires.

He said they are not happy with the delays. “We are saying that if they try to impose any candidate on us they should count NPP in the Zebila constituency out.”

He said it is only Frank Fuseini Adongo who satisfied the entire requirement for parliamentary elections and threaten to acclaim him as the legitimate candidate if the party fails to organize elections in three days.

“We are giving them only three days. If they refuse we will allow the man to stand unopposed and vote for him and we burn the party office and make sure NPP does not exist in the Zebilla constituency,” he threatened, amidst shouts and chants from other delegates.
