Zebilla Muslim Ladies Association Inaugurated

The President of the Upper East Branch of the Ghana Muslim Ladies Association, Hajia Rahmatu Alhassan has stressed the need for the development of a management system aimed at Upgrading infrastructure in Squatter Settlements. This will also help in the provision of clean water to improve the lot of both Urban and rural dwellers. Hajia Rahmatu was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the Zebilla Branch of the association at Zebilla. She said the lack of knowledge, and dogmatic as well as the narrow interpretation of religion cause divisions. She said the slow pace of development on moslem communities in the country is the result of illiteracy and therefore urged parents and opinion leaders to encourage and promote secular education in their communities. According to Hajia Rahmatu, the quality of life of any person can only be improved if the relationship between population and resources are fully recognised and managed.
