Miss Joyce Aidoo, Gomoa District Chief Executive (DCE) has called on workers not to regard the government's declaration for zero tolerance for corruption as mere rhetoric, but treat it with all seriousness.
"The policy is not for only politicians or a certain class of people since little drops of water makes a mighty ocean. Any little action, which could degenerate into the canker should be avoided," She said.
Miss Aidoo who made the call during her maiden meeting with heads of department in the district at Apam reminded the heads that the destiny of the district lies in their hands and that they must make the effort to ensure its advancement.
She said "the government needs the collective effort of all to improve the living standard of the people and we must do away with partisan politics at our workplaces."
Miss Aidoo advised the heads to set good example for their subordinates to emulate, adding, "do not expect your subordinates to be punctual for work when you yourself are a habitual latecomer."
The DCE urged the heads to link their schemes of work to the development plan of the assembly and work in unison to achieve results.
Miss Aidoo called for the judicious use of government property, especially vehicles, as a way of helping the assembly to control its expenditure.
The heads of departments appealed to the assembly and private estate developers to help solve the acute accommodation problems facing workers in the district.
