The chiefs and people of Ziavi Traditional Area, on Tuesday, suspended all economic and social activities and prayed for peace in the country after the Supreme Court’s verdict on the election petition.

The community gathered at an open park about 0500 hours and began a 12 hour fasting and prayer session for God’s compassion on Ziavi and the nation.

Togbe Kwaku Ayim VI, Paramount Chief of the Area said: “Peace is the key to accelerated development,” hence the initiative to seek the face of God for peace...

“We are praying for understanding, love and peaceful co-existence because without these, Ziavi cannot grow and the nation cannot develop,” he said.

Togbe Ayim appealed to politicians and the citizenry to accept the Supreme Court’s judgment for peace to prevail.

Prophet Emmanuel Tegbey of Glorious Prayer Ministry, who led the community through the prayers, said it is important for the nation to acknowledge the existence of God and appreciate Him as such.

He said some disasters in the country were the result of sin and called for moral uprightness, love and peaceful-co-existence.
