Kimtampo (B/A), May 30, GNA - Mr. John Owusu Agyemang, Brong-Ahafo Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress has appealed to Zongo communities not to vote for the New patriotic Party because the party have no respect for them.

He said several reasons given and comments made by Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, NPP's flagbearer that he was a 'zongo boy' were direct deception.

Mr. Agyemang was speaking at the inauguration of the Fanyinamah Masalachi electoral area branch of NDC in the Kintampo municipality at Kintampo.

He told the people to be wary of the lies and deception of the NPP and vote them out of power and challenged the NPP to mention any of the Zongo communities in the country where the metro mass buses convey Muslim children to school.

"I also wandered the number of Muslim schools that benefit from the school feeding programme", Mr. Agyemang said. Alhaji Baba Gausu, Regional Organiser of NDC called on the supporters to conduct their campaigns based on issues devoid of acrimonies and rancour, indicating that, "there is every indication that the NDC will win this year's election hands down". He charged Ghanaians to examine their living conditions now and vote according to the dictates of their conscience.

Mr. Yaw Effah Baarfi, Member of Parliament for Kintampo South warned that, much as the NDC is peaceful, the party would resist fiercely any attempt by the NPP to use its incumbency powers to manipulate the December polls. Mr. Stephen Kunsu, MP for Kintampo North said the party had since the return to democratic rule in 1992, won both the presidential and parliamentary elections in the constituency and urged all registered voters to vote massively for the party. A 14-member executive committee under the chairmanship of Musa Salifu a prominent member of the party was sworn into office to steer the affairs of the party in the zongo communities in the municipality. 30 May 08
