Zongo communities to get facelift as president gives go ahead for development

President Nana Akufo-Addo has expressed satisfaction in his government’s ability to give the approval for the commencement warrant for developmental projects to kick start at the various Zongo communities in Ghana.

Giving himself a pat on the back, the president in a solidarity message to the Islamic community during the 2019 Eid al-Fitr prayers, expressed joy about progress made by Minister for Finance as far as signing a commencement warrant for the Minister of Inner City and Zongo development to begin work at the various Zongo communities was concerned.

‘’I am happy to announce that, the Minister for Finance has signed commencement warrant for the Minister of Inner City and Zongo development to begin work at the various Zongo communities from the Zongo development funds allocated in the 2019 budget.’’ He pointed out.

He indicated that the result fits into his government’s deliberate policy to bring development to the Zongo communities in the country.

He was also hopeful that the rehabilitation of the school blocks and the building of new ones, provision of desks in Islamic Schools will help resolve some of the many challenges facing the Zongo communities.

Akufo-Addo went on to extend congratulations to Muslims on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the holy fasting month of Ramadan.

‘’ I congratulate the National Imam and the entire Muslim population of the world for beavering the path of hunger and fast for the entire month.’’

He said Eid al-Fitr is the manifestation of unity, solidarity and the strengthening of bonds among Muslims.
