Waste Management Company, Zoomlion Ghana Limited says it cannot be blamed for poor salaries of workers in the Youth in Sanitation Module.

The company puts the blame squarely on government’s consistent delays in releasing funds.

The module is run by the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Agency, GYEEDA, in partnership with Zoomlion.

Recent investigations by Joy News revealed that the workers are paid GH¢ 100 while GH¢400 goes to Zoomlion as management fees.

Our investigations also revealed that Zoomlion is not providing the tools and equipment the beneficiaries need to work.

Reacting to the investigations in a news conference Tuesday, a board member of the company, Kwame Gyan, said Zoomlion did not determine the allowance for beneficiaries of the programme.

Our investigations also revealed that Better Ghana Management Service, which is a subsidiary of the Jospong Group of Companies, deducts provident fund from beneficiaries of three modules, but has never paid it to the fund managers.

Kwame Gyan did not state why the tussle over payment of Provident Fund by Better Ghana Management Company Limited has ended up in court.
