Zoomlion undertakes free disinfection of institutions to combat coronavirus

Waste Management Company, Zoomlion Ghana Limited has began massive disinfection of public and some private institutions to help contain the spread of the novel Coronavirus pandemic.

Ghana has recorded one of the highest confirmed cases of Convid 19 within the sub-region.

The government has however extended its lockdown measures within the Greater Accra, Kasoa and Greater Kumasi Areas to minimize the spread of the virus and also called on institutions to help the government manage and eliminate the coronavirus.

Zoomlion Ghana Limited, the country's leading waste management and vector control service provider embraced government with its challenges by disinfecting all markets within the country.

The company following the successfully disinfection exercise of markets has started a massive free disinfection of Institutions to contain the virus.

Institutions such as the University of Ghana, University of Professional Studies, Dzorwulu Special Schools, Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), Mampong School for Blind among others have all benefited from free disinfection of their institutions.

The Zoomlion team moved to the Accra Technical University to disinfect its lecturer halls, Offices, compund and frequently touched facilities.

The Vice-Chancellor of the Accra Technical University, Prof. Nii Odai in an interview expressed his gratitude to Zoomlion Ghana Limited for the free gesture.



He said the Accra Technical University is supporting the fight against Convid-19 by producing alcohol based hand sanitizers which is being distributed and used by the public.

Prof. Odai was optimistic that the protocol measures being put in place and the disinfection exercises being undertaken by Zoomlion Ghana Limited will help contain manage the spread of the Virus.

He urged the public to stay Home as the virus strives when people moves.

The coordinator of the disinfection exercise, Mrs Lola Asiseh Ashitey indicated that Zoomlion Ghana Limited is committing over Ghc 1 million Ghana cedis to undertake this free disinfection exercise as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility and commitment towards fighting the convid-19.

She said the company being an expert in vector control services has deployed Knapsack spraying machines, hand held thermal fogger machine, phoenix fogger machine, mechanized road spraying vehicles among others which are being used in countries that have contained the spread of the virus.

She urged companies who are interested in the disinfection exercise to contact Zoomlion Ghana Limited as special packages have been arranged to help any institutions that wants to disinfect its premises and facilities.
