Health workers agree to resume work - Minister

Accra, June 17, GNA - The Health Workers group of the Ghana Health Service has agreed to end the strike by members of its constituent associations and to return to work immediately. A press release issued by Mr. Kwamina Bartels, Minister of Information and National Orientation said, the decision follows, "a series of meetings between the Cabinet sub-committee on Health Sector Pay Reform and the leadership of the Health Workers of the Ghana Health Service, culminating in the signing of a Memorandum Of Understanding between the parties..."

"The general public is hereby informed, that nurses, pharmacists, anaesthetists, administrators and other allied workers would be resuming work immediately to deliver the much-needed services in our hospitals and other health institutions," it said.
