Accra, June 23, GNA 96 The Ministry of Information and National Orientation is organising a victory carnival on Saturday to celebrate the historic victory and qualification of the Black Stars to the second round of the ongoing World Cup.
A statement signed by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mr Kwamena Bartels on Friday said the carnival would start at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle at 0800 through Farisco, TUC and end in a massive victory celebration at the Independence Square where music would be provided by various bands under the auspices of the Musicians Union of Ghana. "The dress code for the victory carnival will be either the national colours or victory colour, white. No party colours please."
The Black Stars on Friday humbled the USA 2-1 to reach the knock-out stage after going safely through Group E dubbed 93Group of Death". The Stars recovered from a 0-2 loss to Italy to thump the Czech Republic 2-0 before disposing of US 2-1. They will play Brazil in the knock-out stage.
