Kufuor sends goodwill message to Black Stars

Accra, June 26, GNA - President John Agyekum Kufuor on Monday sent a goodwill message to the National team, Black Stars on the eve of their match against Brazil in the on-going World Cup tournament in Germany.

A statement issued in Accra and signed by Mrs Oboshie Sai-Cofie, Deputy Minister of Information and National Orientation said " Tomorrow as you fearlessly face the Brazilian team, know that in all our hearts you are already winners. Your remarkable achievement in this tournament can never be taken away from you."

"You have filled us with hope and optimism for the future and the world acknowledges that a phenomenon has emerged on the global stage. The phenomenon of Ghana's Black Stars," It added.

The statement said, "As you prepare yourselves mentally and physically for the battle ahead, know that every Ghanaian, no matter where they are tonight, adds their hopes and prayers to mine for your success in tomorrow's big match."

"Be strong, be fearless and be confident. Play the game in the full knowledge that no matter what, the Black Stars of Ghana have made an indelible mark on the world, " It said.

The statement said; " I wish each of you, a focused mind, a confident spirit, an agile physique and above all God's blessings." It said; " Ghana and the whole of Africa are all behind you with their prayers and their best wishes. We all believe and know that you will win tomorrow."
