Armed men allegedly attacked two Ministers at dawn on Sunday at Ejisu, near Kumasi, where they were attending a funeral.

Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Environment, Stephen Asamoah Boateng(pictured), and a Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, NEPAD and Regional Integration, Akwasi Osei-Adjei and three women were attacked in the house of Mr Osei-Adjei, who is the Member of Parliament for the area.

The victims were allegedly locked up in the bathroom and toilet by the armed men, wielding pistols and knives. They made away with about 50 million cedis, a mobile phone and other valuables.

A reporter of Hello FM in Kumasi, Samson Nyamekye, who visited the scene of the robbery and spoke with Mr Osei-Adjei, said that nobody was hurt in the attack.

When the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, ACP Frank Adu Poku, was contacted, he admitted having visited the crime scene but declined to give any details.

Efforts to reach the two ministers were not successful.
