Accra, Jan. 31, GNA - Mr. Eric Kwayisi, President of the Student's Representative Council of Accra Polytechnic on Wednesday commended the Ghana Armed Forces for adhering to the directives of the Ghana Labour Commission by placing graduates at their rightful position. He said the Armed Forces was the only institution, which acknowledges the certificates of Polytechnic graduates in terms of job placement.
Speaking at the Tertiary Education Student Confederacy of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) held at Accra Polytechnic on the theme " National Youth Employment Programme: The Way forward". Mr Kwayisi appealed to the government to assist Polytechnic graduates, who are supposed to be the middle level manpower of the economy to get employed.
Mr William Ofori Boafo, Deputy Minister of Defence commended the student body for their steadfastness and humility despite the strikes and cases of unemployment in the country. Mr. Ofori Boafo who spoke on the topic "Oasis of peace in the sub-region" asked students to share the joy associated with peace, which the country is enjoying now. He urged members of NPP confederacy to be loyal to the party and endeavour to reach greater heights in order to take the mantle of leadership in the future.
