Accra, Nov. 15, GNA - A young man who attempted to commit suicide at the Kaneshie Community Tribunal after he was convicted for assault, was on Tuesday jailed two years. "Mother take care of my brother. I am leaving the world", 20 year-old Enoch Koogo said in a note he attempted to hand over to a woman after sentence was pronounced. Koogo, who said he had had enough of financial problems, attempted to take his life when he dashed across the courtroom and hit his head against a wall. He fell unconscious and was rushed to the Police hospital where he was admitted. Two weeks later, Koogo was back in the dock to face a charge of attempted suicide. His stunning action followed his conviction for assaulting a trader named only as Awusi. For the assault the tribunal, presided over by Mr George Agyekum Nana Donkor, fined him 200,000 cedis or six months imprisonment in default.
