Accra, March 28, GNA - A justice of the Appeals Court and a retired justice of the Appeals Court have passed away, the Judicial Service said on Wednesday.

Mr Justice Richard Asamoah, who was sitting with additional responsibility as a High Court, died on Wednesday at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra where he was receiving treatment. Mr. Essillfie Bondzie Simpson, a retired Court of Appeal judge, is also dead.

In an interview with the GNA, Mrs. Regina Apotsi, Judicial Secretary, said her office was informed about the deaths on Wednesday morning and she had dispatched officers to the families to enquire officially.

Mrs Apotsi said Mr Justice Asamoah had been sick for some time. Their deaths come in the wake of the passing of Chief Justice George Kingsley Acquah, 65, at the 37 Military Hospital last Sunday.
