Physically disabled group appeals for help

Nkawie (Ash), Dec 28, GNA- The Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled, has appealed to government to come out comprehensive modules under the National Youth Employment Programme so that people with physical disabilities could benefit from the scheme. Mr Joseph Adu-Boampong, National President of the Society, made the appeal at the inauguration of the Atwima-Nwabiagya District branch of the association at Nkawie. He said the national association had established a chalk factory in Accra to provide employment for members and to generate income. Mr Adu-Boampong said the association had also established its own training centre at Jachie in the Ashanti Region and called on government to use part of the Ghana Education Trust Fund to rehabilitate the centre.

Mr Kwaku Marfo, chairman of the Atwima-Nwabiagya branch of the association, commended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the Ashanti Regional branch of the Society, for providing wheel chairs for distribution to members.
