Accra, Feb. 7, GNA - The Ghana Standards Board and the National Petroleum Authority, on Thursday cautioned all importers of the importation of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders, which was against the law of the state. A statement jointly issued and signed by the heads of the two institutions copied to the Ghana News Agency said the Import and Export Act, 1995 (Act 503), prohibited the importation of used LPG cylinders. The statement noted that the provision would be strictly enforced at all entry points of the country and advised the general public to desist from patronising used LPG cylinders since they were the main causes of explosion and fire outbreaks in homes.
