France congratulates Ghana

Accra, March 6, GNA - The President of France, Mr Nicholas Sarkozy on Wednesday congratulated President John Agyekum Kufuor and the people of Ghana on the occasion of the 51st Independence Anniversary celebration. He also expressed his best wishes and prosperity to Ghanaians and pledged the determination by France to work hand-in-hand with Ghana to strengthen the relationship between the two nations. This was contained in a release issued in Accra and signed by Andrew Awuni Press Secretary to the President.
The French President also congratulated President Kufuor on his tenure of office as the President of African Union which reinforced Ghana's commitment to stability in Africa. In another message, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has also sent a letter of felicitations to President Kufuor on Ghana's Independence Day. "I am hopeful that bilateral relations will continue to develop in line with interests of our peoples who have always lived in friendship and cooperation," said the message. 05 March 08
