CPP: Ghana Has Reached The Watershed

The Convention People’s Party (CPP) the party of Ghanaian independence marked 51years of Ghana’s nationhood with another successful “ CPP ROADSHOW”, held at the Kingsway Restaurant, Leytonstone , London. Last Friday.

The UK Branch Chairman Mr Nii Armah Akomfrah told the gathering that after 51years of Independence Ghanaians have now reached the watershed and asking very searching questions of their politicians.”They wonder how much longer before they are delivered from their plight of hardship, unemployment, homelessness, hunger and generally an impoverished existence”, whilst a few including politicians enjoy lavish lifestyles.

The Chairman went on to say that the economic circumstance facing Ghana and indeed Africa as a whole , with a systematic transfer of wealth from our shores to richer countries , has not changed and that the path followed by the PNDC , NDC and NPP for the last 25 years is a failed path which has not addressed the need to retain the wealth flowing from our resources in our lands and in our hands for use to change the lives of our people. “

“The CPP by 1966 had built a country ready for economic take-off with a greater GDP than many countries now enjoying Middle income status and fast developing countries”, he said.

The choice is to return to CPP Government, was the call from all present. Alhaji Abbas Mensah , legendary organizer of the Party educated a largely young audience about the alliances the CPP forged with Market women, farmers, ex-servicemen and the youth in a determined push to free Ghanaians from the yoke of Colonial bondage and slavery.

Other speakers including Messrs Mensah-Ocloo and H. Akrofi spoke on the CPP’s commitment to new ideas with economic policies to transform the lives of every Ghanaian, a strengthened public sector and reactivated economic activity in all the Regions of Ghana, support for Ghanaian businesses, a reconnection with all traditional allies(Market women, farmers, the labour movement generally and the youth) with renewed effort on their actual needs, a revamped cultural orientation, love of country, respect for Ghanaians and service to duty. Amidst chanting and singing of CPP songs the crowd were charged by the Branch Chairman to go out and recruit even more for the CPP and prepare for CPP Government

Long Live Ghana
