Western Regional Minister wins constituency primaries

Daboase (W/R) April 11, GNA- Mr Anthony Evans Amoah, Member of Parliament for the Mpohor Wassa East Constituency, was on Friday elected by acclamation as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary candidate for the constituency for the 2008 elections. The constituency primaries, was attended by 120 out of the 149 polling station chairmen and constituency executives. Mr Amoah, who is also the Western Regional Minister, was the only candidate and the election was supervised by the Electoral Commission (EC). He promised to continue with his development projects if he retains the parliamentary seat.

The constituency primaries, was attended by 120 out of the 149 polling station chairmen and constituency executives. Mr Amoah, who is also the Western Regional Minister, was the only candidate and the election was supervised by the Electoral Commission (EC). He promised to continue with his development projects if he retains the parliamentary seat. Mr Amoah said the constituency was still deprived and a lot of work needed to be done to develop the area. He said the electrification of communities would be accorded top priority in his development agenda. Mr Amoah said 10 communities would soon be hooked to the national grid and that the tarring of roads would also continue to accelerate development in the area. Nana Owusu-Ankomah, Western Regional Chairman of the NPP and other regional and constituency executives of the party were present.
