Ghana has become a regional centre for business

Accra, June 3, GNA - Mr Monjed Salha, General Manager of Holiday Inn, a subsidiary of Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) in Accra has observed that Ghana was currently witnessing significant economic growth and becoming a regional centre for business and leisure travel. Speaking at the opening of the hotel, Mr Salha said "We are pleased to launch one of the world's most recognizable hotel brands in Ghana. The country is currently witnessing significant economic growth and becoming a regional centre for business and leisure travel. There is increasing demand for modern and affordable accommodation and that is what Holiday Inn stood for".

The hotel which began operations on July 1, is the group's first property in Ghana and an expansion of its operations in the Middle East and Africa.


It is a seven storey building with 168 rooms located near to Kotoka International Airport and the thriving new business district in the metropolis.

A statement issued by the management said the hotel has six executive suites and two Presidential suites complete with contemporary amenities. Other facilities are an in-house conference facility with five function rooms accommodating up to 180 guests, as well as state-of-the art video, audio and telecommunications equipment and a fully equipped business centre with internet access. Leisure facilities at the hotel are extensive and include a swimming pool, a state-of-the art gym, dinning hall, bar and restaurant.
