Thu, 25 Dec 2008 Source: GNA

Accra, Dec. 25, GNA - Ghanaians on Thursday joined Christians all over the world to celebrate Christmas, which marks the birth of Jesus Christ more than 2000 years ago. The event also reminds Christians of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ to judge the living and the dead. Christmas marks one of the most important beliefs of Christians - the virgin birth of their saviour, Jesus Christ. In Accra, churches were decorated with Christmas trees, ribbons and flowers. The day is also being marked with picnics, get-togethers and family re-unions as well as exchange of messages of reconciliation and good wishes from friends and relatives. This demonstrates the season's core message of peace on earth and goodwill towards all men.
