Flood victims receive relief items

Amaada (Ash), June 22, GNA - The Atwima Mponua District Assembly and the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) have jointly presented relief items running into millions of cedis to some flood victims.

Amaada (Ash), June 22, GNA - The Atwima Mponua District Assembly and the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) have jointly presented relief items running into millions of cedis to some flood victims. Some 55 mini bags of rice, three bags of sugar, 160 bottles of cooking oil, 40 students' mattresses, eight bags of used clothes, 20 pieces of Wellington boots, 30 pieces of blankets, 100 plastic cups and 100 plastic plates were donated to flood victims at Amaada and Abaasua Number Two farming communities in the Atwima Mponua District. Mrs. Theresah Adomako Tawiah, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Mponua, presented the relief items to the victims at separate presentation ceremonies at Amaada and Abaasua Number Two. Mr. Iddrisu Salifu and Abudul Moro both Assembly Members of the two communities respectively received the items on behalf of the victims. River Offin overflowed its banks following a heavy downpour and destroyed property and displaced scores of people.
