Takoradi, Dec 1, GNA - A three-day seminar on human rights issues involved in the country's oil exploration has ended at Takoradi. It was organized by the Centre for Public Interest Law, a Human Rights non-governmental organization (NGO) and the Wassa Communities Affected by Mining (WACAM) for 20 members of communities that would be affected by the oil exploration.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at the seminar, Mr Kwesi Baffoe Intsiful, a lawyer and member of the Centre for Public Interest Law, said the aim of the seminar was to educate communities to be affected by oil exploration.

He said the participants were being trained as paralegals to educate their communities on their rights and to document human rights violations to assist the centre in its advocacy work.

Mr Intsiful said the participants would form the nucleus of the network of communities affected by oil exploration. NSOC 015 Social Conflicts Politicians
