Women can now ride motorcycles in Bawku

Accra, May 31, GNA - The National Security Council has lifted the ban on riding of motorcycles by women riders in the Bawku Municipality with immediate effect. A statement issued in Accra on Monday and signed by Mr James Agyenim-Boateng, Deputy Minister of Information, however, said the ban on riding of motorcycles by men riders remained in force. It said "according to the National Security Coordinator, women riders shall not have men pillion riders or carry men passengers on their motorcycles".
