Rustenburg, South Africa, June 18, GNA - Vice President John Mahama has warned the Black Stars against complacency in their clash against Australia on Saturday.

The Vice President visited the Team at their final training session at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg ahead of their clash with the Socceroos.

Vice President Mahama extended the message of support from President John Evans Atta Mills and the people of Ghana to the Team in their campaign at the first ever Mundial on an African soil.

He congratulated the Team on their victory over Serbia and charged them to replicate that performance against the Socceroos. Captain Stephen Appiah on behalf on the playing body assured the Vice President that they will beat the Australians on Saturday.

He said the visit by the President confirmed the support of Government towards the team, adding that "we won't disappoint." Also present was Peter Turner, Vice President of Gold Fields Limited (headline sponsors of the Black Stars) in charge of West Africa Operations, who charged the Team to go for the maximum three points against the Aussies. Victory over the Socceroos will put the Black Stars in pole position to qualify for the next round, ahead of their final Group D clash against Germany on June 23 in Johannesburg.
