Ashaiman, Aug. 25, GNA - Mr Numo Addison Adinortey, Ashaiman Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), on Wednesday cautioned that residents who rebuilt their demolished buildings would be prosecuted.
The MCE, who disclosed this during the Second Ordinary Meeting of the Third Session of the Ashaiman Municipal Assembly (ASHMA), said the demolishing exercise would continue to help prevent floods in the municipality.
Mr Adinortey said the assembly would create an Agriculture Sub-Committee to help beef agricultural production in the municipality.
He said in view of the low revenue base of the Assembly, it would cede out and streamline data collection for revenue collection and property rates collections among other things.
He said the assembly would purchase a large tract of land for future use at nearby communities such as Santor, Adjei-Kojo, Kubekro, Michel Camp for development projects.
The MCE said temporal bridges would be constructed on the Gbemi Stream as a matter of urgency to facilitate the movement of people from one point to the other.
Mr Adinortey directed that all Childhood Development and Day Care Centres in the municipality be registered with the assembly and licensed by the Department of Social Welfare.
He explained that for efficient and effective revenue collection to be achieved, people would be contracted to collect the refuse fees adding however that the assembly would regulate and monitor their activities.
The MCE further stated that the assembly would put the Ashaiman main lorry station on tender in order to recruit new management to take over its running.
He later introduced Mr Edward Gbinnye to members of the assembly as the new Municipal Co-ordinating Director.
