South Korean Government to support technical and vocational education

Accra, Aug. 31, GNA - Mr Alex Tettey-Enyo, Minister of Education, on Tuesday said government would collaborate with Korean Government to establish technology centres to train vocational and technical school teachers.

He said the training would be undertaken with emphasis on Information Technology and Engineering in vocational schools across the country.

Mr Tettey-Enyo announced these at a meeting with Mr Lee Sang Hak, South Korean Ambassador to Ghana and a Korean delegation, to discuss projects that would enhance education in Ghana, in Accra.

He commended the South Korean Government for initiating such projects and said that the Government of Ghana would support the projects to facilitate the development of educational system in the country.

Mr Sang Hak said South Korean Government was considering more comprehensive way of supporting Ghana to implement educational and other projects.

He pledged the Korean Government's commitment to complete existing projects such as vocational institutions, water projects, construction of a 400-kilometre highway and a sea defence project to enhance Ghana's economic development.

The delegation visited Accra Technical Training Centre to access on-going projects.
