But fir the intervention of a man of God, the host of Kessben Fm’s drive time, Daniel Owusu Aduomi aka ‘Danny boy’, would have been killed last Tuesday evening at the Santaasi taxi rank in Adum Kumasi.

Danny Boy was on his way home when a young man believed to be in his early twenties accused him of being a member of an armed robbery group. The young man claimed the robbery group had recently robbed him and that Danny Boy was part of the group.

An angry mob gathered immediately and started beating up the helpless radio show host. Not even his press card, which showed he was a journalist, could save him as he received free-for-all slaps from all directions.

“Immediately he saw me at the station, this guy started screaming on top of his voice that I was among a group of guys who robbed him some time ago… it was not easy at all, no amount of words that I am not a robber and that I am a presenter at a Kessben Fm could provide a respite, as I stared receiving dirty slaps from the guys who surrounded me,” Danny boy said.

He noted that the intervention of some bread sellers at the station who know him as a presenter could not even free him from the grips of the angry-looking young men.

According to him, a pastor from the End Time Ministries by name Pastor Osei, who he had interviewed on air before, appeared on the scene and saved him from being lynched.

Danny Boy said the pastor had just alighted from a taxi at the station and when he saw what was happening, he rushed to his rescue and insisted he was a journalist from Kessben Fm.

“When he said that, the guys including the guy who made the allegation against me vanished into thin air and I therefore regained my freedom,” Danny Boy explained.
