Bridgestone tyres, distributed by CFAO Ghana have been officially launched in Kumasi bringing to 15, the number of the company's distributing outlets in the West African sub-region.
Launching the product, the Ashanti Regional Minister hammered on the importance of the transport sector to the development process. The transport sector he said contributes immensely to the GDP and serves as a major source of employment.
He urged the CFAO to collaborate with other stakeholders like the GPRTU and VELD to educate drivers on the use of appropriate tyres in order to reduce road accidents.
He urged the company to make their prices affordable to motorists. The responsibility of development he noted should be a shared responsibility between the government and the private sector.
