Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for La Dade-Kotopon, Vicent Sowah Odotei popularly known as Obama, has announced his intention to contest the 2024 elections as an independent candidate.
With this declaration, he joins the incumbent MP, Rita Odoley Sowah, and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's driver, Joseph Addo, in the race for the constituency's parliamentary seat.
According to the board member of Accra Hearts of Oak, his decision to run is driven by a desire to complete developmental projects he initiated during his previous term in office.
He expressed his commitment to returning to the constituency to continue the work he started, stating, "I am coming back to help the constituency, I did a lot for them, and I aim to continue the good work," he said in an exclusive interview with GhanaWeb.
He defeated the then NDC MP Nii Amasah Namoale in the 2016 elections to serve in the seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic and lost the seat to Rita Odoley in the 2020 elections.
Find attached a document outlining some of the developmental projects he plans to undertake in his bid for a second term.
