A two-man Energy Investors from the United States are in the country to conclude negotiation with government agencies on the possibility of converting garbage to generate energy.

The delegation led by Howard Katz, Chief Executive of Real Prop Capital Corporation told Journalists at the airport on Monday that the 100 million dollar plant to be cited in Accra would be able to generate about 10 megawatts of power.

He said with the use of compost that is cheap and locally generated, the project would go a long way to augment government energy provision effort for the country.

Mr. Katz said he has already been in the country to a couple of times to discuss with the relevant officials on the project and hope that this meeting with the Ministry of energy and local Government would finalise the deal.

He said his company had been in the energy business for about 15 years and that this is his first project outside the US. "Upon the successful take off on the project in Accra we would extend to the various region and then venture into telecommunication." Mr. Osei Mensah Local Representative of the Company said the project is expected to generate about 300 jobs.
