Maame Efua Houadjeto is the new CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA)
A former Deputy Women's Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the party's Parliamentary Candidate for the Mfantsiman Constituency in the 2024 elections, Maame Efua Houadjeto, has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA).
She takes over from Akwasi Agyeman, who resigned about a week ago.
The Ghana Tourism Authority, a key agency under the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, is responsible for promoting Ghana as a leading sustainable tourism destination.
Its mandate includes driving the sustainable development of tourism by leveraging cutting-edge technology and ICT, alongside effective regulation and standardization.
In addition, the Authority is focused on strengthening various partnerships, including multi-agency, public-private, and stakeholder collaborations.
In her new role, Maame Efua Houadjeto is expected to adopt aggressive marketing, robust investment promotion, and the improvement of industry service, safety, and health standards to boost socio-economic development.
