That boy is immature, unprincipled and indiscreet. It is for such reasons that many people advocate for a minimum age for some positions in the public sector. How can any reasonable and cultured man pass such a reckless comment in the full glare of national television, on another mans wife? Is he crazy or was he high on some substance? This is incredible. In some societies or countries around the world, his statement would have solicited instant justice. Suffice it to say, following this delinquent behaviour, he has subsequently been suspended from Parliament by the Hon. Speaker for going on a rage and destroying public property in parliament - no less. His shameful behaviour has lowered the bar for the need by all to show decency at all times in public places. Clearly, the NPP did not establish background checks on the boy and many of his colleagues in their party and I'm afraid they will live to regret the consequences. If this is Mr. Shaibu's record of his first14 days in parliament, I shudder what will become of him by by the end of the year - that is if he has not been thrown out of the place by then.

As a protege of Agyiri Blankson, the former Mayor of Accra under Kufuor, and a side-kick of the notorious clearing agent, it is believed that his emergence as an NPP candidate at Weija was facilitated from that angle. When and if the Speakers intention to prosecute him and others for vandalism in the House of Parliament succeeds, the Weija constituency can call for new elections. This will be the best opportunity to repair the integrity of the Parliament of Ghana as well as the credibility of the Weija seat.
