Senyo Hosi, Convener of the One Ghana Movement
The Convener of the One Ghana Movement, Senyo Hosi, has described the posture of the Minority in Parliament in recent times as unbefitting to the New Patriotic Party.
He described the behaviour of the Caucus as unnecessary and unhealthy for Ghana’s democracy and called out the Leader of the Minority Caucus, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin.
He made the comments on the back of the chaos that happened during the vetting of some ministerial appointees by the Appointments Committee of Parliament.
In a video cited on Citi News’ official X page, he said: “This is not reflective of the NPP. This is a very big disgrace. This is not the NPP of J.H Mensah and their contributions to Parliament. This is not it. This grand-standing that Afenyo-Markin has been doing, I think he should relook it. He is a fantastic gentleman, a well accomplished man. It is not necessary, it is nonsense, makes no sense.”
Senyo Hosi further noted that despite Afenyo-Markin's accomplishments and standing, his current “antics” is not a good example for the new parliamentarians.
He said: “Be very comported, organized, advocate properly and carry your people along. He has asked very good questions, you can’t take that from him, but he is also been very wasteful, and done some unnecessary showmanship which doesn't help our democracy at a time where we have a lot of newcomers,” he said.
