The Founder and Leader of the Glorious Waves Church International, Prophet Emmanuel Badu Kobi, has cautioned Pastor Mensa Otabil, the Founder and Leader of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), over his utterances on the gospel.
According to Badu Kobi, Mensa Otabil’s claim that God does not reveal mysteries to humans any longer is inaccurate.
Speaking to his congregation prior to the 2024 general elections in November regarding pastors who were predicting the outcome of the election and claiming it was a prophecy from God, Mensa Otabil argued, “They believe they are preaching mysteries that God only revealed to them.
“But I sympathize with their ignorance. God is not revealing mysteries to anybody again, and I will say it again, God is not revealing mysteries to anybody, and God is not speaking by revelation to anybody. God's revelation is closed.
“He is not adding revelation; He is not subtracting revelation. It is closed; it is called the canon of scripture.”
Reacting to the preacher’s comment, Badu Kobi asserted that Otabil’s arguments lack substance.
He argued that God still speaks and reveals hidden secrets to mankind.
Speaking to his congregation on Sunday, February 9, 2025, in a sermon entitled “Don’t fight what you don’t understand,” he stated, “Listen to the last one that he said, for which today I am replying to him, he is attacking the prophetic while he is not attacking the teaching ministry.
“He said God is not speaking to anybody, and it is because maybe he is not hearing the voice of God. And how can you be a church leader and not hear what God is saying?
“Now the question is if you say prophets are not there, no problem, which God sent you to teach the Bible? The Bible is for reading so anybody can read it. So why are you teaching it for people to accept it?
“Then when it comes to the direction and things of God, you say that one is not there. What kind of inconsistent man are you? For you, you should teach, but the prophet must not prophesy what God is saying.”
Prophet Badu also addressed Pastor Otabil’s teachings on the Bible, referencing it as a closed book.
“A few moments ago, he came and said the Bible is a closed book, and I laughed. Write this and keep it: The Bible is not the end of the kingdom. Before God, there are books. If he doesn’t know, some of us will have to teach him.
“He said everything about the bible from Genesis to Revelation is a closed book, and it is not true. God is still speaking.
“My problem with the fathers is that most of them don’t understand the kingdom system,” he said.
The man of God further added, “The problem of the church, especially about the fathers, is to fight the sons, and the fathers are wrong. The problem of the church today is confusion and division. The fact that it is not you…do your part and let those coming also do their part.
“Now today, why am I speaking like that? There is one teacher of the land creating confusion, and in fact, he is among the fathers. As for me, Badu Kobi, I respect him, but he is disturbing the serenity and the way the church must go. He is affecting it, and some of us must put him where he belongs because the fathers and the children must synchronize.
“He has been talking for some time, and the way he is talking, he doesn’t know he is affecting the body of Christ. You have a church, you have a university, nobody says it is wrong, you have so many branches, they are doing well... He even has prophets in his church, but he is talking against the prophetic.
“So, the question is, if you have prophets, why do you talk against the prophetic? So why would he talk against the prophets? A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.”
