The Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC) is set to host its Downstream Dialogue at the Fiesta Royale Hotel from February 18 to 19, 2025, bringing together key industry stakeholders, policymakers, and experts to discuss pressing issues in Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector.

This high-level event will serve as a platform for critical discussions on fuel pricing, regulatory frameworks, supply chain efficiency, taxation policies, and the future of energy transition in the industry.

The theme for the event is “Ghana’s Downstream Oil and Gas Sector: Challenges and Opportunities.”

Officials from the Ministry of Energy, including the sector minister, Dr. John Abdulai Jinapor; the Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Godwin Edudzi Tameklo; and the CEO of COMAC, Dr. Riverson Oppong, along with other industry experts, will outline upcoming regulatory measures aimed at stabilizing fuel prices and improving market transparency.

These experts are expected to provide insights into recent global oil price fluctuations and their impact on Ghana’s petroleum sector.

Discussions will focus on sustainability and energy transition, with panelists exploring opportunities for alternative fuels, clean energy solutions, and investment in renewable energy projects to future-proof Ghana’s petroleum industry.

Today marks the first day of the event, with discussions set to continue tomorrow at the same venue, Fiesta Royale Hotel in Accra.
