The wife of Kwabena Adu-Boahene, former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau, allegedly attempted to destroy evidence by packing suspected currency bills into suitcases on the night she was informed of her husband's arrest.

This is according to Deputy Attorney General Justice Srem Sai, who appeared in court on Friday, March 28, 2025, for the bail hearing of the embattled couple, Kwabena Adu-Boahene and his wife, Angela Adjei-Boateng.

An Accra High Court has subsequently reviewed the bail conditions for former National Signals Bureau (NSB) Director-General, Kwabena Adu-Boahene, following a legal challenge by his lawyers.

His bail sum has been reduced from GH¢120 million to GH¢80 million with two sureties, one to be justified.

His wife, Angela Adjei Boateng, retains her GH¢80 million bail with two justified sureties. Both must report to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) three times weekly and require EOCO's approval for travel.

The couple, who arrested over alleged state funds embezzlement, argued that the original bail conditions were excessive. Their lawyer, Samuel Atta Akyea Esq, successfully pushed for a reduction, stating the amounts were unfairly high.

Deputy Attorney-General Justice Srem Sai opposed the appeal, calling the couple flight risks and revealing that Angela Adjei Boateng allegedly attempted to destroy evidence by packing suspected cash into suitcases after her husband's arrest.
