Bawumia would have been going round explaining and justifying why the cedi should be selling US$1/17 by saying that the trade war has affected export so shortage in dollar inflow (supply shortfall so price goes up). Shame on Nana and Bawumia liars.

*Open Letter to the Electoral Commission of Ghana on Unpaid Allowances*

Mrs. Jean Adukwei Mensa,
Chairperson,
Electoral Commission of Ghana,
Accra, Ghana.

I write to express my deep disappointment regarding the non-payment of allowances due us, the Temporary Staff who served during the December 7, 2024 general elections.

It has now been five (5) clear months since we executed our duties in support of a peaceful, credible, transparent, and timely election process, efforts which your office duly acknowledged in your letter dated 7th March 2025, referenced C/EC/SF. In that letter, which was signed by your good self, you apologised for the delay and assured us that steps were being taken to secure the necessary funds from the Ministry of Finance.

We are in the month of May 2025, and not only have our allowances not been paid, but no further communication has been provided by your office.

It is disheartening that while those who benefited directly from the election; His Excellency the President and Members of Parliament, remain silent, we, the temporary staff who sacrificed our comfort and, in some cases, risked our lives for the democratic process, continue to be ignored. This is unprecedented in our nation’s history, and it is extremely demoralising.

Such treatment undermines confidence in national service and discourages future participation in electoral exercises by patriotic citizens.

I had hoped that His Excellency the President, in delivering his 120-day address to the nation on Wednesday, 7th May, 2025, would touch on this issue. Unfortunately, he did not.

Madam Chairperson, your continued silence on this matter is deeply troubling. We deserve at least an update, if not full payment by now. Please, restore our faith in your leadership by providing clarity and action on this matter. Thank you.
