I hope this board is made up of men of caliber and are going to help in boosting up cocoa production to the 1 million metric tons Ghana used to bost of previously. The board must quickly recommend new producer price to enhance the farmers confidence in the business. The board must ensure that illegal mining operations must not be entertained in cocoa farming areas, these areas must be declared national security zones to ensure that more cocoa farming communities survive in these areas.
I want to say that the CEO of cocoboad had it wrong by saying that the institution owes a lot and therefore cannot increase the producer as promised, yet he still remains the CEO, he should know that he was brought there to solve problems of the sector. If there were no problems he wouldn’t have been brought there, I beg.
