Seventeen Fulani herdsmen remanded in Ho

Ho, Nov. 30, GNA - The Ho Circuit Court presided over by Mr Frank Owusu Afriyie on Monday remanded 17 Fulani herdsmen accused of robbery on the Abotoase-Kwamekrom Highway into prison custody until December 13. Prosecuting, Chief Inspector S.K. Agboadoh, told the court that the accused persons robbed the passengers of an Accra bound Metro Mass Transit (MMT) Bus with registration number, AS 6612 Y, of an unspecified amount of money and mobile phones at about 2:30am last Thursday. He prayed the court to remand the accused persons in prison custody for further police investigations.

The accused persons, Abubakari Aliu, Abubakari Mahamadu, Abu Moro, Mahamadu Gariba, Mahamadu Guro and Mahamadu Aliu, who spoke Hausa, pleaded not guilty to the charges of conspiracy and robbery. The others, Hassan Gando, Amadu Abubakari, Hassan Gajere Osumanu, Adruba Aduba, Abukari Ali, Amidu Sita, Abubakari Mama, Mahamadu Omaru, Ibrahim Mohammed, Abubakari Adamu and Abdulai Jamey who spoke Ewe also pleaded not guilty to the same charges. 30 Nov. 10
