THE NPP IMPOSED E-LEVY TO COVER LOANS THEY COLLECTED AND DIVERTED INTO THEIR PERSONAL BANK ACCOUNTS. NDC SHOULD CHECK VERY WELL. THEY WILL STILL FIND MORE LOANS AND GRANTS THE NPP DIVERTED INTO THEIR PERSONAL PRIVATE BANK ACCOUNTS. THE SKY TRAIN AND ADUBOAHENE CASE ARE EVEN SMALL. ARREST ALL THE THIEVES OTHERWISE WE WILL ORGANISE AN UPRISING AGAINST ALL POLITICIANS INCLUDING THE NDC. GHANAIANS STAGED OUR COUP DETAT IN DECEMBER 2024. It's akin to a man who doesn't want to enter into rain to pick a sackload of salt at his doorstep but will pass through the back window/backdoor, go into forest while it's still raining, cut sticks with hooks and come back to use them to drag the sackload out of the rain.

Ever since l could hear, listen and decipher reasoning behind any actions or inactions l have listened to politicians, consultants, academia, business people talking about Ghana improving revenue generation by WIDENING THE TAX NET but till date none of them has strategically proposed a well thought and efficient direction to achieving this aside the usual long talk. For me, I was of the view that E-levy is the most effective and efficient means to increase revenue generation even though l was against the high rate it came with. E-levy should had been handled tactfully as a powerful mean of widening the tax net where both the poor and rich pay, both skilled and unskilled professionals are part and both formal and informal employees and employers are inclusive but we missed the chance.

Common logic and basic economics dictate that taxation is channeled into economic activities enjoying high patronage. In Ghana however, because of populist politics and want of viable campaign message, scrapping the taxation of a financial service whose output has far outstripped that of the banks put together became a crucial campaign message and no doubt hailed by so many.

Ironically though, the income taxes of the people praising the scrapping of the e-levy have been increased by some 30-35% but they're not crying. They rather cried and will still cry over a 1% e-levy payment.
