  Have you considered the price differentials for the periods. Gold and cocoa prices have almost doubled this time round so the same volume will give you different amounts.

  Tariffs are paid by those importing goods to the USA not the exporting country. So, the tariffs cannot hurt us, especially as demand for our major exports, gold and cocoa, is inelastic. In other words, demand is not affected ...

  What will be helpful will be a quarterly or monthly breakdown of exports from April 2024 to April 2025. We had different parties in power over that 12 month period. Roughly speaking, Party A was in power for 8 of the 12 months, party B in power for 4 of the 12 months. A breakdown will settle the inevitable political squabble over which party can claim credit.

  Ghana is indeed benefitting from the current shifts in the world commodities market. The price of gold was $2,621.30 as of December 24, 2024 and now selling at $3,365.80. We don't know if there was any increase in the volume of gold exported. I believe not much has happened in the production sector to give credit to the present administration. The policies of Donald J. Trump has caused many investors to shift into gold, creating the upsurge in gold prices.

  How is that? We have oil exports and we also we have oil imports. Why do we export a commodity that we turn around to import? Unless there’s something fishy here.

  Or you just arrived in Ghana? There should be a policy where we buy all oil produced in Ghana and refine it. Then the excess need we import. 2025 we still export cocoa beans and import chocolates. Stupid! Plain stupidity. Gha ...

  Most of you guys lack comprehension! BoG is telling us, Ghana's total exports increase is from April 2024 to April 2025.
  It doesn't necessarily means the increase was made only in April 2025.

Since Ndc came to power, not a single time did I hear them that they wants to build a refinery..I know nana Addo Built one gold refinery..As a Country with this amount of gold, there should’ve been a gold refinery in almost every region where gold is mined..for some time now, it seems I have been eulogizing Mahama but when is the gold refinery coming..are we not thinking as a country to add value to our natural resources? Gold board should think of adding value to our gold..cocobod should also think of adding value to our cocoa..exports is goo but we need to think of value addition aswell..come on this is not rocket science

  Correction* export is good but as a country we need to think of value addition aswell..Same thing we have been doing and up to date, our cocoa beans is always exported without any value addition..As much as it’s good to export some of our natural resources, we need to add value to it aswell so our people could have easy access to it..for example if u go to Dubai, they don’t mine any gold in Dubai yet they have a golden city where u can basically walk in and buy gold watches, necklaces etc..why can’t we do same as a country since the gold is coming directly from Ghana..let’s learn to be wise as a country..u export some of your raw materials, u keep some in your reserves and then u refine some of them by adding value..simple
