They introduced this tax because it would be a disgrace for them to reinstate the taxes they had promised to abolish. It's a case of robbing Peter to pay Paul. This reflects the incompetence of the NDC

I know some will come and talk about the inefficiencies at ECG but that notwithstanding we have a huge debt on our hands .Dumsor in the making. The 1ghc Levy will surely help and the NPP knows it but for them to have some leverage to hit back at NDC they are opposing it.They will fail by the grace of God.Wicked and unreasonable NPP men and women.

It is unfair to plead with drivers to reduce fares only to place a new levy on petroleum products. Any increase in prices of petroleum products trickles down to affect prices of other items . The government can save a lot of money by revising the salaries and other fringe benefits of the MPs and CEOS. It is outrageous if you listen to the salaries and fringe benefits of some CEOs in the country . Even in the advanced countries, CEOs don’t get such benefits.

WHAT IS THE HULLABALOO ABOUT????
It is rather worrying that in Ghana every issue is politicized. We have huge energy sector debt which is resulting in DUMSOR which is an unpleasant situation for all us. If a wise government, trying to reset the situation has asked us to sacrifice just Ghc1 on fuel prices why should there be any protest?
The Ghc1 levy is in no way going to bring any significant changes to the price of petroleum products but it is being politicized. If the government is not allowed to implement the levy, the debt would remain for future governments to inherit and the DUMSOR which we all hate would remain with us.
I would passionately appeal to all Ghanaians to bear with the government in its quest to retire the energy sector debt once and for all.

We were paying 1 cedis for 100 cedis now just 12 cedis we r paying 1 cedi. so now 100 cedis we pay 8 cedis 33pesewas. 200 cedis e levy we were paying 2 cedis now 200 cedis we are paying 16 cedis and some pesewas. over to you Joe Lartey should I go on? 300 cedis e levy we paid 3 cedis now 300 cedis we will pay 25 cedis haha the more u buy the much more u pay. By the time Mahama finishes his term we will be finished

I think the one Cedi per litre is too much. It should be like 20 pesewas per litre, maximum 50 pesewas per litre
