What can you do with an honorary degree?

My University professor at Teesside Uni (UK) was always addressed by his first name; the same applies to almost all the professors and doctors in the school. The same cannot be said about Ghanaians.

There are people who don't have those educational titles, but know better than some of our professors in their own aspect of human endeavour.
I am not a mechanical or electrical engineer, but my friends who are engineers refer to me as their colleague due to the encouragement and support I give them in their aspects of human endeavour.
If these academicians cannot mind their own business, then the best they must do is to assist those who irritate them to acquire the necessary educational qualification.
I applied for employment in an institution. When the head of the institution received by letter and Curriculum Vitae, he dismissed me with the statement that I did not have the educational qualification.
I told him that I learnt on the job, as a result of my daily contact with issues on that aspect of human endeavour.
He was not ready to listen to my explanation.
Two weeks later there was a complaint from a worker. I followed the complain and to my surprise the two of us meet again.
There was a disciplinary procedure there, which led to the summary dismissal of a worker.
There were three members on the disciplinary committee, himself and two local union executives.
Only his signature was on the recommendation from the disciplinary committee.
He was surprise when I told him that the summary dismissal of the employee is null-and-void.
Some few years ago I was in court with my lawyer and after my case there was another on to which I decided to listen to.
The defendant in the case said that chiefs in their village settled the matter and he produced the arbitration commission report.
Upon a careful look, it was clear that other chiefs who were members of the committee apart from the paramount chief did not append their signature to the committee report.
I whispered to my lawyer that the committee report is null-and-void and have no effect.

They are only going for low hanging fruits that they can lay hands. Why don’t they tell despite and Ofori Sarpong to do same. They should give us a break.
