And of course there are those Ghanaians and other Africans who will sell their own country to foreign states for money and other favours- often these people are in positions of influence and have access to sensitive state information or secrets. These are the worst kind of traitors.

I beg to differ from some of the things lawyer Anokye is saying.
It was not because of Kwame Tua that Nana Agyeman Prempeh 1 was arrested.
Nana Agyeman Prempeh brought the problem upon himself by not respecting the terms of the Treaty of Fomena,signed in 1874 between the Asantes and the British.
He refused to pay the war indemnity of 50,000 oz of gold and rejecting the British Permanent Resident in Kumasi.
Governor,William Maxwell arrived in Kumasi with special instruction from the colonial secretary in London to finish the job.
At the same time,Britain was going through some serious economic crisis,termed as "Long Depression" between 1873-1896.
They needed money,trade patners and new territories,especially during the Sramble for Africa.
All the Europeans were looking for resources to expand their interest and the French had already covered a significant chunk of West Africa.The British needed to move in swiftly and secure their interest of which they did.
That was the reason why they arrested Nana Prempeh and dissolved the Asante kingdom.
This strategy has nothing to do with Kwame Tua and the golden stool.Tnx.

Nobody should blame Nana Kwame Tua because he was a king maker in the Asante Chieftancy.
Asantes were at the crossroad of European economic crisis between 1870- 1896.
This was the period of Long Depression in Britain and the beginning of Second Revolution or Technological Revolution.
At the same time,some 7 European countries have declared the Scramble for Africa.
The most important factor that triggered the downfall of Asante Kingdom was the withdrawal of the Dutch interest in the Gold Coast.
When the Dutch decided to leave,the Asantehene Kwaku Dua 1 didn't like it so he sent a delegation to The Hague to plead with the King Wilhem to descind his plans.
Nana Kofi Karikari took over from Nana Kwaku Dua in 1867 but there were lot of disturbances between the Asantes,civil wars and chaos everywhere.
There came an opportunity for the British to attack the divided Asante front in 1973-1974.
The Asante diplomat,Nana Boakye Tenten tried to negotiate with Sir Garnet Woseley to suspend the operation but didn't work.
After the Sagranti war,Nana Mensa Bonsu took over from his brother Nana Kofi Karikari in 1874.
At this point,Asante Kingdom fell into a vaccum where many rebel groups sprung up^.The old Kwaku Dua group,Kofi Karikari group,Mensa Bonsu group,Atwerboana group and others,pure civil war.
What role did Nana Kwame Tua play in all this?
Nana Prempeh was enstooled by the help of the British during the era of civil war.
You can't blame Kwame Tua at this time of chaos.Tnx.
